Introduction
While most of the platform covers 1:1 or 1:few interactions, there was a strong demand from clients to also
include 1:many interactions respectively communication. We listened to that and added the News & Mailing
module. Before we dive into additional into technical details, we need to explain why we differentiate
between News and Mailing Campaign.
We define News, as non-personalized items that potentially should be distributed via a variety of distribution
channels (SIX News section, your homepage, your email distribution lists, newswire). News therefore needs to
follow rather rigid formatting guidelines. The main example for a ‘News’ item is a press release.
Campaigns, on the other hand are emails (and only emails) that have less restrictions on formatting
(placement of pictures and other elements) and might include personalization and 1-click-booking links (i.e.
are linked to schedulR events). Examples for campaigns are e.g. newsletters or invites for events.
➔ News has more formatting restrictions and might be distributed via email too, but also via a number of
other channels at the same time.
➔ Campaigns are always and only emails, but might include personalized links and offer more freedom with
respect to formatting.
News and Campaigns are separately permissionable, i.e. if you do not need the advanced features we will hide
Campaigns for you to keep your menus clean.
