Difference between IRM contacts and News & Campaign contacts

Before we start how to import existing contacts into schedulR, we probably need to explain the difference
between an IRM contact and a News & Campaigns (Mailing) contact.

Generally, contact information for mailings and the remainder of the platform are stored separately, for legal
(GDPR) and technical reasons (different data fields). Contacts and distribution lists are yours and are also your
responsibility from a GDPR perspective

This means while on the IRM side the investor hans.muster@bestebank.ch will only exist once, and is
maintained by us, the same email might exist in the distribution list of every corporate client of ours, and if the
email in the IRM is updated it will not be automatically updated on your distribution lists. That would be nice
(and technically feasible) but was labeled a ‘big fat red line’ by the lawyers.

The different modules still interact for your benefit, but we will dive into that at a later stage.
